First Day of School

Dress: JCPenney | Cami: Charlotte Russe | Blazer: Charlotte Russe | Shoes: Payless |
Hair Bow: Hot Topic | Glasses: Japan | Pin: Japan | Backpack: Hot Topic

Yesterday was the first day of classes for me. And I'm already swamped with a million things to do. AWESOME. Yeah, there was a little bit of sarcasm in there, ha. This semester, well, the entire school year really, will be a challenging one, but hopefully it'll end with a positive result... I am looking forward to learning many new things and growing so much more.

Today I introduce you to my closet. Mostly because I didn't have time to go outside and take a better picture. You know how it goes. I thought that this outfit was a good introduction to my more professional educational career this year, while still keeping it nerdy. And I am in love with this dinosaur pin. It's the best thing to add a little more fun into any ensemble! You'll probably see me in a bit more business/formal attire more often, though I still need to increase that part of my wardrobe. But that probably means that I'll be able to show you more new pieces in the near future :)

I'll try and keep up with Dreaming of Dinosaurs even when I'm busy! And good luck to any readers who have also just started classes!

Dressing for Yourself

Dress: Pimkie (France) | Lace Top: Charlotte Russe | Shoes: Japan |
Socks: Charlotte Russe | Purse: Target | Belt: Japan | Hair Piece: Kohl's

I'm back! I truly apologize for my absence. As soon as I got back from Japan, I had to get back to Blacksburg an spend  the last two weeks in training and helping residents move-in on campus. It's been a crazy and exciting time!

You've seen me wear this dress before here. This time I wanted to give it a different look, adding accessories for an edgy yet soft look. I would normally wear something like this for a special occasion or when I actually had something to do, really. But even though today I was running some minor errands and mostly staying indoors, wearing this outfit made this dull just a little bit brighter :)

I will try to post outfit posts more regularly. However I no longer have the help of my wonderful mother and fiancé to take pictures, so there may be a few less in each post, but I'll do my best!

Back to Reality

Wow, a month can certainly fly right on by you. It feels like it was just last week that I first set foot into this country, which I had only been able to dream about before. Now, four weeks later, I have visited countless shrines/temples, met so many amazing people, crammed as much Japanese into my head as possible, and learned so much more about myself. Though this visit was short, I will always keep it alive in my memories.

In the (extremely) early morning I will once again depart back home. Once back, the fashion will continue full swing! I apologize for my irregular outfit posting. I hope to dedicate much more time to this blog in the coming months. The next few weeks may be a bit hectic, with getting back to school and starting my job again. However, I'll quickly try and find a routine! I hope to bring you more innovative outfits, now that I have been deeply inspired by Japan's amazing sense of fashion. While I may not have many new pieces for a while, due to spending all my money in a foreign country (oops), I do still have more to share!

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey and I hope to be able to share more with you all!

Japanese Magazine Inspiration

I apologize for the lack of new outfit photos recently! My wardrobe is highly limited at the moment and I feel like I keep using the same clothes every other day practically... Things should become more regular once I'm back home later this week!

To make up for it, today I'll bring some outfits from a different perspective. I picked up 2 Japanese fashion magazines since I've been here and have absolutely loved them!

SEDA (left) is mostly everyday fashion, while KERA (right) showcases fashion found in Harajuku. I'm a huge fan of Harajuku fashion and I find that it describes my style (or what I want it to be, ha). But I found things I loved in both of them!

Here's a glimpse of a few pages from SEDA. I love the variety of styles these girls wear. Many of them are actually very simple, but they're put together so well and look amazing!

These shots are from KERA and I am in love with them. Crazy? Yes, yes they are. Beyond awesome? Oh yes! These are mostly examples of the very extreme Harajuku fashion. But it's honestly my favorite. I love how they're able to put together many different pieces into one complete, amazing looking outfit. This is where my true inspiration is :)

I hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into Japanese fashion! Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
