Small Touches

Sorry about my little absence this past week! School and work are in full swing and I'm still struggling to find the balance and actually get things done in a productive manner. I always manage to get everything done, but not necessarily when it should be done. But that's probably also because I am putting wedding planning in front of anything else, oops. Can you blame me? ;)

Last week I got my bangs cut shorter. It seems like it's been forever since I've had them on the shorter side, I've still been figuring out how to style and wear them. But even though it's a small change, it's one that I am enjoying :) I also enjoyed wearing this outfit. It was mostly dark and neutral, but with a fun splash of color!

This past weekend I was able to enjoy time with CJ again. We did a lot of relaxing, gaming, and created our wedding registry at Target! I didn't realize how much fun it would be to scan everything in the store haha. There's a lot left to do for the wedding, but it's been an exciting and fun process!

Stay tuned, in the coming week I'll be sharing my latest photography obsession! Thanks so much for reading!

Happy Valentine's Day!

It doesn't matter whether it's a significant someone, a family member, or a furry pet that's important to you in your life. All that matters is that you love them each and every day!

But if you still need something to brighten your days, just remember that there are 649 pokémon that love you ;)

Surprise!

Just dropping in real quick for a quick surprise! I randomly decided to update my hair right before heading out of town for my weekend. Because sometimes, you just need a little pink in your life to brighten your day :)

Have a great day!

Finding Your Edge

Top: Hot Topic | Skirt: Charlotte Russe | Vest: France | Tights: We Love Colors |
Shoes: Payless | Hair Ribbon: Japan | Watch: Cariloha

In my last post I mentioned sometimes having trouble coming up with material for the blog or outfits that I want to share. And then the next day I wake up, have no idea what I'm planning on wearing, start grabbing a  random shirt, and then everything just comes together. It makes no sense. Some days I will already have a great outfit planned and then when I actually put it on I hate it. But this time when I put one together spontaneously, I love it.  I think this most represents my style, fun with a bit of edge. I love the combination of the cute patterns of the skirt with the simplicity of the tshirt, and the vest just ties it all in! And I can't forget to mention one of my favorite hair accessories, my 'bunny ears' ribbon. I've worn it before here.

Later today I will be heading back to Northern VA for a long deserved weekend with the fiancé! I am always so excited when I can actually get a weekend off! There is of course always schoolwork to be done but I will always get to it... you know, eventually ;)

What are you looking forward to this weekend??

Thanks for reading!

Looking for Inspiration

So, as I wrote this post, I realized that I probably need to find a wider variety of where I shop, ha. But when I am given gift cards during Christmas, it doesn't really matter what store it's for, I won't complain. This top was my latest purchase and I have to say, it's my new favorite! And I've been dying to break out this great pin. Because you know, the only thing better than wearing glasses on your face is wearing it on your shirt :P

I've been thinking a lot about this blog lately. Confession time: I started writing this post last week and just gave up in the middle of it. I honestly wasn't sure what to write, not thinking that anything I could say would be of interest to anyone. But this weekend I came across this post from A Beautiful Mess. Inspiration is something I've been thinking a lot about recently. The past year or so I've felt myself getting really inspired via all the blogs I follow. It's what inspired me to pursue new interests and learn new skills. Eventually that led to starting this blog. I chose to do a fashion blog partly because clothing and dressing uniquely are interests of mine, but also because I felt that that was the only thing that I could feasibly offer to others. But even that itself is a challenge sometimes. I've also got so many other things going on in my personal life that I have trouble focusing and planning for the blog in order to keep up with it regularly.

There have been multiple times when I've just felt like giving up on the blog. But when reading this post on living an inspired life, I realized that hey, if blogging is something I really want to do, then I should just keep doing it! I may not be a great blogger (I'm not), but really the only way to get better at it is to keep blogging. Hopefully as time continues I'll be able to write better, organize myself more, and come up with new content. So Dreaming of Dinosaurs may be a little rough around the edges right now, but with time and patience I think it can definitely grow into something more.

Thank you all for reading and taking this journey with me :)
