Happy Friday Dinosaurs!
On this rainy day I'm bringing you a few updates on what's been going on recently!
Letter from my 16 year old self
As part of an assignment in my 11th grade AP US History class, I wrote a letter to myself that would be sent to me by my teacher six years later. I received that letter yesterday. And I realized that I am still as crazy as I was back then, ha! I laughed at myself as I read what 16 year old me wrote. While I vaguely remembered a few of the things I had included in the letter, I was still in for a surprise. I mostly wrote about what my life was like back then, who my friends were, my hopes for the future. I even made a declaration that I knew I would be a History teacher. Uh, what? This came as quite a shock seeing as how I've been engrossed in nothing but French since then!
But what really shocked me was what I found on the last page. All of a sudden 16 year old me got deep. I said that I hoped I would always try to improve myself, to strive be a better person. And then I said this:
"But most important is to be yourself. By the time you read this I want any care about what others think about you to be gone. Their thoughts don't matter. You are who you are and that's great. Just be a person who you like. Be the person you want to be."I didn't realize it, but that is exactly what I've been trying to do all these years. Trying to be someone I'm happy with. Well past me, I hope I made you proud <3
Sending my wedding invitations
Yesterday I finally finished assembling and stuffing my wedding invitations! Now everything is getting REAL! I had over 70 invites and sent them on their way. I honestly could not be happier with them! Lauren from This Sweet Season did such an amazing job with them! I can't wait to share them with you after the wedding!
Pinterest Success!
I've been trying to beef up my beauty regimen in preparation for the wedding. I was looking into getting a lip scrub since I often get peeling despite my constant use of Strawberry Chapstick - something that I can never leave the house without! I stumbled upon this DIY lip scrub online, which you can fine pinned here. I am absolutely in love with it! I never realized how soft my lips could actually feel! It was super easy to make and this recipe will make enough to last you. I just use it every few days and follow with my usual lip balm. I definitely recommend trying this out!
Don't forget to follow me on Pinterest!
Thank you for reading! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
