Happy Monday Dinosaurs!
After last week's wedding week, I realized I never actually shared our wedding invitations on the blog. So that's what I wanted to do today, because they definitely deserve to be shared! You'll see some of the other stationery we used for different parts of the wedding!
During the Spring, I contacted Lauren from This Sweet Season. I had known Lauren from an earlier year in college and when I found out she was doing her own graphic design work I knew I had to ask her to make my invitations!
Our invitations included the invite, response card, information card, and a tag for the packaging. I wanted a unique and customized invitation that would reflect us and the wedding, going along with our Pokémon and Asian theme!
The image of Umbreon and Jolteon was actually made by my maid of honor, Heather. Lauren took it and made it work perfectly in the invitation! The bamboo was the piece that tied together each part of the invitation. Our names utilized our wedding colors and definitely stood out!
For our response cards, we decided to have a little fun with the choices, to continue with the Pokémon theme. You could choose between "Yeah! Not even a battle could keep me away!" or "Sorry, I'll be catching 'em all!"
The information card was simple, directing our guests to our wedding website for more information about the big day!
Lastly, everything was wrapped together in purple twine, with the bright teal tag on top, adding just the right amount of pop to the invitation! It was packaged so nicely, ready to be sent to our guests!
I used a silver Sharpie paint pen to address each invitation, so they each had a little sparkle to it!
I am absolutely thrilled with how these turned out and Lauren did such a great job with them! If you want to see her post about them and how she went through the design process, check it out here!
Long before the invites were sent, we had our Save the Dates made by Shutterfly. I wanted something simple for these, but still wanted to have fun with them! We wanted to reflect our nerdy selves and this is what I came up with! I was really happy with the results!
We also had our thank you notes for after the wedding made through Shutterfly. I wanted something fun and sweet, so I went with a cute, quirky design and included some shots from our engagement session!
With all of the expenses of the wedding, I had to be cost efficient, so I decided to design our ceremony programs myself. I just chose a simple layout, only including the necessary information we needed, such as the date, ceremony events, and the names of our family and bridal party. Even though it doesn't use any serious design skill (which I have yet to learn...), I'm happy with how they turned out!
Lastly, I wanted to share Heather's beautiful image in it's original form. I had just asked her to make an image of our two favorite Pokémon together, but when she knew were including Asian themes in the wedding, she decided to draw it in that kind of style. The result was absolutely perfect! Aside from the invitation, we used this image on the inside of our thank you cards, and in the middle of our programs. Thank you for your help Heather!
Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed seeing these different types of stationery and that it can inspire you to add your unique touches to an event!
